Sultan Ahmed Mosque, also known as the Blue Mosque, is a historic mosque located in Istanbul, Turkey. The mosque was constructed between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Sultan Ahmed I. It was designed by architect Sedefkâr Mehmed Ağa in the Ottoman Baroque style and features six minarets and a stunning interior decorated with blue Iznik tiles. The mosque is one of the most recognizable landmarks of Istanbul and a popular tourist destination. It is still used for worship today.
